Science Gallery Bengaluru will be a dynamic new space for engaging young adults at the interface between science and the arts, drawing on the intellectual capital of three of India’s leading research institutions, Indian Institute of Science, National Centre for Biological Science and Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, which offer complementary areas of expertise.

The first space of its kind in Asia, Science Gallery Bengaluru will deliver an innovative, ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events to engage 15-25 year old students at the dynamic interface between art and science. The site is in North Bangalore along a main road and highway. The design takes cues form the site and its existing landscape. The site reveals a clearing between the wonderful trees.

This clearing needs to accommodate a ground floor lobby and more public functions as well as an entrance forecourt that can be open to sky.The south side has a cluster of trees that provides a wonderful outdoor setting and acts as a buffer between the existing building and the new addition. The west and north offer a serene rear yard to the building. A storm water channel runs along the northern periphery of the site.
