This is a neighbourhood market, with restaurants, shops and wellness in a mixed format with a streets and squares approach.  All these are laid around public spaces that help shape a happy, recreational ambience for the visitor.

The design shakes up the old architectural character to bring new energy and materiality appropriate to the new activities and functions.

Design Approach

It is developed in an old factory, a spinning mill with a masonary building in the front and a large steel shed in the rear. The metal shed is dis-assembled and put together with complementing steel structure bringing more openness, light and height for the double level lease spaces and tall internal streets. Sun-dried earth brick is used for walls and partitions to bring an earthy, sustainable character.

The existing masonary building is undressed, and repurposed for new age office interiors. New staircases are added to lead upto the upper level terrace where a light steel architecture houses a brewery.  The existing landscape is enhanced with elements of placemaking shaping streetscape, open air theater, planters and street furniture. The spaces are suited for the curated activities and events that will energize the spaces.
